There is a lot of reason behind most anything that our company chooses to partake in or promote, and we hope our offerings reflect this. The Map Lady can source nearly anything you could need for 3D Mapping, however, the products that we provide are congruent with our beliefs and our partners that produce these tools promote good business within the geospatial sector. Data ownership, privacy, transparency and honesty around operational capabilities and product quality, must be demonstrated for a product to wind up on our shelves and the groups responsible for these solutions shall enable the democratization of high technology, individual empowerment, and inclusivity. It is our objective to make these tools available along with aptitude and the ability to utilize them on an expert level and for more than just the purpose they may have been acquired for.

Taylor had been touring all over the US since moving off the East Coast once completing a Bachelors in Environmental Studies from Ramapo College (and getting divorced) in the beginning of 2014, where she focused on Environmental Assessment and Impact Analysis for Natural Gas Distribution and Right of Way management and planning for linear utilities infrastructure.

During the completion of her bachelor's degree, Tay was realizing, “Maps are my Medium” a phrase used often while explaining how this career took shape, even today.

“There was always a pressure to ‘pick something’, as I enjoy and have experience in geology, ecology, land use, law, planning, hydrology, property, forestry, transportation, infrastructure… not realizing that I already had picked something when I’d manage these environmental assessments by mapping everything out to understand the spatiality of these interactive components. Things that are seemingly irrelevant to one another can be described together in space, whether adjacent or across the globe… Maps are my medium. It is how I think about all these topics that excite me…

…and then it became 3D.

Company History

After a few post grad years of informally providing answers and solving problems with maps and GIS technology, Taylor Handschuh founded her company The Map Lady LLC in 2017, right before acceptance into the MSciGIST program at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

So how does Tay do it all?
